MasterCard appoints new group head for Business expansion in Asia-Pacific

MasterCard announced on Friday the appointment of Julie Yang as Group Head, Business Expansion and Expert Sales, Asia-Pacific.

Yang will be responsible for growing MasterCard’s business with pan-regional corporate and government institutions. She will manage a team of experts focused on the business development of solutions, including prepaid, commercial payments, payment gateways, fraud management, processing and mobile solutions.

Prior to this, Yang was Country Head of Taiwan where she was instrumental in expanding MasterCard’s business in the market. During her three year tenure, she oversaw the deployment of Mobile NFC/ MasterCard PayPass with three of Taiwan’s leading mobile operators, and also led the launch of the MasterCard Display Card in the market, the first market in the Asia-Pacific region to roll it out.

Taking over from her in the role of Country Head of Taiwan is Eva Chen, who will report to Ling Hai, Division President, Greater China, MasterCard. Chen has served in several capacities since joining MasterCard in 1999, and was appointed Head of Sales for Taiwan in 2011.
