Macau casino revenue in June declines on World Cup

Macau’s casino revenue declined 20 percent in June from the previous month as the World Cup kept some gamblers away from card games and slot machines in the world’s biggest betting hub.

Gambling revenue for casinos in the city fell to MOP13.6 billion (USD1.69 billion) in June from MOP17.1 billion in May, according to Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. SJM Holdings Ltd, the casino operator with the biggest market share in Macau, fell the most in five months on Hong Kong’s stock market.
