Laguna Clothing opens 2nd plant in India

Laguna Clothing, a 50:50 joint venture between Mauritius-based CIEL Group and Italy's Gruppo Tessile Monti SPA, has launched its second garment-manufacturing plant in the Indian city of Bangalore.

With the capacity to produce 15,000 high-end formal shirts per day, the plant is expected to employ more than 3,000 workers when it reaches maturity by 2011.
