Uniqlo to open first store in Belgium in 2015

Uniqlo said on Tuesday it opening its first store in Belgium in the Autumn of 2015.

The store will be located in Antwerp, a world renowned fashion capital with a vibrant cultural scene. The city is also a popular shopping destination for international visitors.

"We are very pleased to be announcing today our decision to open a first UNIQLO store in Belgium, in the city of Antwerp, which is the center of the Belgian fashion industry and home to MoMu (Mode Museum), the renowned fashion museum," said Berndt Hauptkorn, CEO, UNIQLO Europe. "We believe both residents and visitors to Antwerp will truly appreciate our offering."

In Europe, Uniqlo operates 23 locations across four markets (as of the end of October 2014) – the UK, France, Russia and Germany, where it opened its first store, in Berlin, April this year. It has also expanded this year its operations in France, with the opening of UNIQLO Le Marais in April, a store in Marseille in May, and a new store in Strasbourg this month.
