Burberry reports strong growth in APAC, digital in H1

Burberry reported double-digit comparable sales growth in Asia-Pacific and the Americas in the first half of the year. Overall, it said total revenue reached GBP1.1 billion (USD1.7 billion) in the first half, with storing performance across all regions and continued digital growth.

During the period, the luxury fashion brand opened none mainline stores and closed eight. Six airport stores were also opened in Hong Kong, London, Heathrow, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan Malpensa and Rome. last month, it also the successfully launched My Burberry fragrance.

Burberry said drivers in the first half included rainwear, womens Prorsum, leather bags and mens tailoring.

"This has been a strong first half for Burberry, with sales growth of 14 percent reflecting our ongoing brand and business momentum.
