US FMCG giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) is seeking to lure Indian consumers, cutting prices on iconic brands such as Pantene and making a marketing push behind others like Pampers.

Price cuts and investments could dent local pofits but that hasn't dimmed P&G's ambitions for India, where the USD24 billion consumer-packaged-goods industry is growing at 12 percent a year, according to Nielsen Co.

"As P&G reaches its next billion consumers, a lot of them have to come from India," says Sumeet Vohra, marketing director at P&G India.
