HCM City's supermarkets experience Tet surge

Several supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City report that the number of shoppers during the New Year holidays went up by 30-40 percent compared to normal days.

The stores have increased the number of cashiers and extended trading hours to better serve customers.

Sai Gon Co.op Mart, for instance, reported that the number of shoppers rose by nearly 40 percent over the same period last year.
