After a successful first quarter, India's consumer durables companies are looking to sustain the growth momentum in the forthcoming quarters with new, competitively priced products, improved services and the introduction of digital gadgets.
Ravinder Zutshi, deputy managing director at Samsung India says, "Flat panel TVs are showing maximum growth, while home appliance products – such as refrigerators and washing machines – are showing consistent growth. For the [Diwali] festival period, we are looking at a growth of 40-45 percent over the corresponding period last year (September-October 2010)."
