Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 launches in HK

Microsoft Hong Kong on 15 November announced the general availability of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to business customers in Hong Kong. This is part of the worldwide launch of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 in 25 countries and 23 languages. The flexible architecture of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 includes built-in capabilities for multiple industries and geographic regions, lets people make quick and easy changes to processes and user experiences to fulfill the shifting needs of their business, no matter how complex the organisation.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is the Microsoft ERP solution designed for enterprises with 50 to 7,500 users. It helps employees be more productive and increases the value of information by providing everyone in the organisation with access to critical business information and processes. Because it includes rich industry and core ERP capabilities in a single, global solution, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 promotes faster time to value. Simple to learn and use, it provides the agility you need to expand business opportunities, modify processes, and differentiate your business. With pervasive interoperability, you can take advantage of existing investments, lower the total cost of ownership (TCO), and support innovation in your organisation.

Customers and partners in Hong Kong will benefit from the prebuilt industry capabilities in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. In a single solution, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 helps enterprises meet their business requirements easily with purpose-built capabilities for five industries (Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Public Sector, and Services industries). In addition, the same single solution can support specific business requirements easily by extending the industry foundation with packaged vertical solutions from the Microsoft Partner Network, the largest partner ecosystem of global systems integrators, independent software vendors, and value-added resellers. Microsoft Dynamics AX also supports global organisations by managing multisite operations through shared master data and business processes, as well as country-specific capabilities, in a single instance. Rich ERP capabilities also support human resources, financials, project management, and sales and marketing.

The simplicity of the Microsoft Dynamics RoleTailored experience gives people across the company the information they need to do their job, access to the Microsoft productivity tools they use every day, and built-in, contextual business intelligence, empowering better decisions. The Microsoft Dynamics RoleTailored user interface includes more than 30 Role Centers and makes it easy for everyone in key business areas to access and share ad hoc, self-service business intelligence and reporting. And because Windows Azure-based cloud services, such as Rapid Start, Site, Payment and Commerce services, are directly accessible from within Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, companies can immediately realise the benefits of public cloud services from within their private cloud or on-premises deployment.

As enterprise organisations recognise the limitations of legacy ERP solutions to enable their dynamic businesses, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 serves as a highly scalable yet cost-effective solution for their operations, subsidiaries or divisions to maintain a competitive edge, while retaining their legacy investment to cover administrative ERP needs at the corporate level. At the same time, large and midsize companies are looking to Microsoft as a safe haven from current ERP vendors that may not offer clear product road maps or commitment to long-term innovation.
