China’s Happigo implements new warehouse management solution

Happigo, a multimedia retailer in China specializing in televised home shopping, is gearing up for expansion and has optimized its warehouse operations for more efficient supply change management.

The solution from global supply chain optimisation provider Manhattan Associates Inc. will be deployed in Happigo’s two largest warehouses that have a combined storage area of 860,000 square feet. The deployment is expected to be completed in the spring of 2013.

Tang Liang, executive vice president of Happigo, said the deployment will enable the company to boost efficiency within its warehousing operations by improving inventory and order fulfilment accuracy. Once the project is completed, it will have automated the entire picking, packing and shipping process.

The new system will also enable Happigo to manage its multi-channel distribution needs and help it match inventory levels to changing order patterns as well as improve order discrepancy handling should customers change their minds about orders placed.

Ultimately, all improvements made will speed up order delivery and bring an enhanced purchase experience.

Happigo is taking advantage of a consumer environment in China characterised by increased spending and a growing demand for convenience shopping. It promotes products via various media channels including TV, Internet, print and online catalogues, mobile devices and telephone.
