HP showcase latest retail solutions in HK

Hewlett-Packard, the world’s largest technology firm, showcased its latest retail solutions in Hong Kong last week.

An extensive range of retail solutions such as Retail Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems, Video Wall, Touch Digital Signage Display, Non-Touch Digital Signage Display were demonstrated in the HP Retail Therapy 2013 event.

"With the rise of sophisticated e-commerce and mobile technologies, todays tech-savvy consumers expect instant, customised access to a brand’s offerings. However, delivering this type of personalised experience can be challenging for brick-and-mortar businesses," the company said on Wednesday.

To retain existing customers and win new ones – the majority of them increasingly connected – retailers require technologies that will allow them a seamless and engaging experience across multiple customer touch points within the store – or what is known as omni-channel retailing.

HP’s end-to-end retail solutions focus on omni-channel and allow businesses to deliver a personalised and simplified shopping experience.

The US technology giant also launched the HP ElitePad Mobile POS Solution, a POS device that helps retail and hospitality businesses enhance the customer experience and maximise staff productivity.

The new mobile solution, which is composed of the HP ElitePad plus the HP Retail Jacket for ElitePad, allows businesses to meet customer needs anywhere in the store with mobile POS and assisted selling capabilities. It integrates into a retailer’s existing IT infrastructure, saving time and money by allowing them to easily connect to store systems.

"Consumers expect the same personalised experience they get online or on their mobile device in a retailer’s brick-and-mortar store," said Christian Charlton, Director, Retail Solutions, Printing and Personal Systems, HP Asia-Pacific and Japan. "With the HP ElitePad Mobile POS Solution, store managers and associates are empowered to move the sale from behind the counter, giving them the ability to assist the customer right on the sales floor for immediate customer satisfaction."
