China’s DHgate partners with MasterPass for secure, fast checkout

DHgate, a B2B e-commerce platform in China, has integrated MasterPass in its global digital service to enable a simplified online payment, becoming the first merchant in China to go live with service.

Working alongside MasterCard, DHGate said it will also enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to strengthen their cross-border e-commerce business.

Launched in February 2013, MasterPass is currently accepted by over 40,000 merchants in 10 markets including China, as well as Australia, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States.

China Construction Bank started using MasterPass in March, becoming the first issuer in China and Asia to implement MasterPass with its digital wallet, LongPass.

“With more cross-border e-commerce activities undertaken by SMEs in China, MasterPass provides an innovative payment solution with just a few clicks to facilitate secure and convenient transactions," said Dennis Chang, Head of China, MasterCard.

In December 2013, DHgate and MasterCard have partnered to expedite payment solutions for Chinese SMEs and creating convenience for clients all around the globe to source for Chinese product
