Summer breeze picks up Thailand's 7-Eleven sales
Sales of 7-Eleven convenience stores in Thailand grew by 10 percent in the first quarter of this year, doubling the chain's earlier projection, despite a post-flood slip in the first two months.
The purchasing power of consumers was not good in January and February as people spent more on home furnishing products to restore their houses after the floods rather than on consumer products, noted Piyawat Titasattavorakul, managing director of CP All Plc, the chain's operator in Thailand.
Thailand's CP All to expand its 7-Eleven empire into China and Vietnam
CP All Plc, the Thai operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores, will proceed with expansion plans in China and Vietnam to aid long-term growth.
The company has high potential to get licences to operate 7-Eleven stores in the southern part of China, as the company has showed strong business performance for many years. Moreover, the economy in the south of China is strong and licences are easily obtained.
