Volvo recalls more than 12,000 cars in China
Volvo Cars is recalling 12,798 of its 2012 model year vehicles imported into China, the top Chinese quality regulator said, in order to prevent potential fuel leaks and to fix faulty wiring that could cause airbag failure.
Volvo is recalling 11,119 S60 and XC60 cars to fix a wire harness under the front seats which might interfere with the car's airbags, China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said on its website late on Friday.
Toyota to recall over 681,000 vehicles in US
Toyota Motor said on Wednesday it is recalling more than 681,000 cars and trucks in the US market to address potential problems.
The Japanese automaker said it will recall about 495,000 Tacoma pickup trucks from model years 2005 to 2009 to replace a part in the steering wheel. It is also recalling about 70,500 Camry mid-sized cars and 116,000 Venza crossover vehicles from model years 2009 to 2011 to replace a stop lamp switch.
Toyota said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries in either case.
Honda recalls over 9,000 SUVs due to possible fuel leaks
Honda Motor is recalling more than 9,000 midsize SUVs in the US and Canada for problems that can lead to a fuel leak.
Honda is recalling model-year 2012 Acura MDX and Honda Pilot vehicles that were built sometime between mid-December and mid-January.
In some models, a component inside the fuel tank may not have been welded securely because it was made using a different material with a higher melting point.
BMW to recall Mini Coopers in China
BMW said it will recall 3,406 Mini Cooper models in China to fix a fault in the water pump, part of its global recall of 235,000 units.
Chrysler recalls 242,000 Ram pickup trucks over steering system problem
Chrysler is recalling nearly 250,000 Ram pickups because a bad part in the steering system can cause drivers to lose control of the truck. The Ram is Chrysler's top-selling vehicle. The recall covers 242,780 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from the 2008 to 2011 model years.
Toyota recalls 105,784 Prius cars to fix gearbox, steering
Toyota Motor Corp said on Wednesday that it will recall 105,784 early model Prius cars in Japan and overseas to fix a fault with the model's steering and gearbox. The recall will affect all its first generation Prius cars, which it launched in 1997.
RIM recalls 1,000 PlayBook tablet computers
BlackBerry smartphone maker Research In Motion Ltd has recalled about 1,000 of its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computers due to defective operating software that can make it impossible for users to set up the device.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based gadget maker said in a statement on Monday that it learned that the affected tablets were shipped with software "that may result in the devices unable to properly load software upon initial set-up". Only PlayBooks with 16 gigabytes of memory were affected, RIM said, and the majority of them had not yet been sold to customers.
Honda recalls nearly 700,000 vehicles worldwide
Honda is recalling nearly 700,000 Fit, Freed and City compact cars around the world for a defective spring part that may cause the engine to stall.
No accidents have been reported related to the problem, but at least 72 complaints were filed in Japan, and 29 abroad, Honda Motor Co. spokesman Tomohiro Okada said on Thursday.
Toyota to recall 1.7m vehicles globally over "fuel leak"
Japanese car manufacturer Toyota is to recall nearly 1.7 million vehicles worldwide over concerns about a possible fuel leakage.
About 1.2 million models are being recalled in Japan and 421,000 overseas. Japan's transport ministry said slight cracks could appear in fuel pipes which could cause leakages if untreated.
Toyota to recall Sienna minivans for brake risk
Toyota Motor said on Monday it would recall about 110,000 of the 2011 Sienna minivans due to a risk that drivers could damage the brake system as they use the parking brake.
The Sienna is an all-new model.
Toyota said it was not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue, and that it would notify owners in January of the problem.
