China's CSR leaders named
Haier, Lenovo and Huawei are among the Chinese brand owners demonstrating the strongest corporate social responsibility credentials on the global stage, a study has argued.
The World Economic Forum, a Swiss not-for-profit foundation, and the Boston Consulting Group, the consultancy, assessed 95 leading Chinese firms and interviewed 130 experts to identify the country's CSR leaders.
Malaysia up in WEF financial health report, but cost remains concern
Malaysia has inched up a spot to 16th in this year’s World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Financial Development Report, an annual survey measuring financial system health.
It was only one of two emerging economies and one of six Asian economies in the top 20, which was otherwise dominated by Western nations.
Malaysia’s ranking was bolstered by strong results in financial stability (6th), banking financial services (15th) and non-banking financial services (13th), according to the survey report.
Taiwan listed 13th in global competitiveness ranking, WEF
Taiwan sustained its 13th position in the global competitiveness rankings of 142 economies, according to the Global Competitiveness Report 2011-2012 released on Wednesday by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
India slips in WEF's global competitiveness ranking
India has slipped by two places to 51st place in the World Economic Forum's global competitiveness rankings, while rival China has managed to increase its position by two places to 29th.
As per the WEF's Global Competitiveness Report 2010-11 – released on Thursday – Switzerland came first in terms of its ability to provide the world's most competitive environment on several fronts.
