Italian luxury house Giorgio Armani, present in India with two Emporio Armani stores and a Giorgio Armani label store, is ending its Indian joint venture with DLF Brands, a division of real estate giant DLF. The Italian fashion house will now enter into a franchisee deal with Genesis Luxury to expand its retail presence in India.

Armani, Gucci, Burberry to open stores in New Delhi
Giorgio Armani, Gucci and Burberry are among the international luxury brands to open, each, second stores, in the Indian capital of New Delhi, in the nearby city of Gurgaon, at the newly opened Oberoi Gurgaon Hotel.

Giorgio Armani is planning a major event to celebrate his decade plus mark in China on 28 May in Beijing.
Armani's Greater China business comprises of 13 Giorgio Armani boutiques, 51 Emporio Armani stores, 62 Armani Collezioni stores, 31 AJ Armani Jeans stores, seven Armani Junior stores, 33 A|X Armani Exchange stores and six Armani Casa stores in 43 cities.

Mr Armani speaks about Bulgari's new ownership and the posibility to create a luxury Italian pole
In an interview to Italian media referring to Bulgari's new ownership, Santo Versace, Chairman of Altagamma, the association of Italian luxury brands, said that Giorgio Armani is the last major Italian brand which can create a pole of Italian luxury brands, thus protecting not only ''Made in Italy'' but also Italian luxury brands remaining in Italian ownership.
Mr Giorgio Armani said in a recent interview that he still has a lot to do within his own group before considering creating such a pole.
Luxury industry trends in 2011

Armani goes online for Chinese market
Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani plans to tap the Chinese market with a new online store that opened last Friday for Emporio Armani in one of the first such initiatives in China by a major fashion brand.
"In view of the increasing enthusiasm for online shopping and the growing importance of the Chinese market, I have decided to open an Emporio Armani online store in China," Armani was quoted as saying in a statement.
