HK's Central office rents likely to decline
Grade-A office rents in Hong Kong's central business district Central are likely to fall by 10 to 15 percent in the first half of the year amid shrinking demand from the business sector and growing competition from landlords in less central areas, according to property consultant Knight Frank.
As tenants are inclined to relocate to cheaper locations, rents in non-core districts such as Causeway Bay, Quarry Bay and Wan Chai could rise by up to 5 percent over the period, it said.

Why Chinese don't fancy fragrance yet
The Chinese may admire the West and adopt many of its luxury products and preferences, but not so with fragrances.
"Fragrances do not have as long a history in China as in the West," explained Wu Zhigang, chief marketing consultant of Shengshi Chuanmei Consultancy Co. He continued, "Foreign perfume companies should find a strategy suited to the market, if they want to develop the business in China. They should pay more attention to consumers’ preferences."
Japan lost autos output to hit 338,000 through Friday
Japan automakers in the first two weeks after the 11 March earthquake and tsunami will lose about 65 percent in light vehicle production, industry consultant IHS Automotive Insight said on Monday in a report.
Japan output is normally about 37,200 vehicles per day, or about 521,000 in a two-week period. IHS said that nearly 338,000 vehicles of that production through Friday will have been lost.

100 malls expected to pop up in 7 Indian cities by 2012, says JLL report
Nearly 100 shopping malls are likely to come up in India by 2012 in seven major cities on the expectation of increased demand from retailers, according to a report from property consultant Jones Lang LaSalle.
It said there are 193 shopping centres currently operational in Delhi-New Capital Region, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
