Luxury fashion label Carolina Herrera has opened its premier flagship store in Vietnam. Marking the Venezuelan-born designer’s entry into the market, the debut Vietnam store is located on Level 1 of Saigon Mall, one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic buildings.

The new store will stock the latest Carolina Herrera autumn/winter 2016 collection, which consists of luxurious women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories and specialty items, representing a specific lifestyle for men and women.

The Carolina Herrera label is known for its use of rich fabrics and sleek silhouettes, as well as the appreciation of uncomplicated dressing.

Founded in 1981, Carolina Herrera started her eponymous label in New York. In 1995, Spanish fashion and fragrance firm Puig SA purchased Carolina Herrera from its founder and designer, retaining Herrera as creative director. French designer Herve Pierre was appointed creative director in 2002, but left the brand after 14 years in the role.

After using consultants to design seasonal collections, Herrera returned as creative director in February 2016. In addition, she revealed that Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia of Monse – who also earned acclaim for designing at Oscar de la Renta – would join her in the top job. Kim was named senior vice president of design and Garcia as a consultant.
